JOB DESCRIPTIONConestoga Meat Packers located in Breslau, Ontario is a vertically integrated processor of premium quality, fresh pork. Our Company is owned and supplied by a co-operative of over 160 Southern Ontario family farmers. All of our farmers got into the processing business because they wanted to supply the Canadian market with the same wholesome, delicious pork their own families were enjoying.AZ Drivers are a critical part of our success in building relationships with our customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Shunt trailers and shipping duties, as requiredSafely operate all equipment required to complete assignmentsDeliver product to customers on time and maintain a high level of customer serviceComplete all necessary paperwork, including Bills of Lading and invoicesComplete all pre-trip inspections; identify and report any vehicle deficienciesDrive defensively at all times and adhere to all regulatory requirementsUnload trailers with pump truckCommunicate with Conestoga Meats dispatchThe position is 4 days a week, 10 hoursEnsures compliance with health and safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Health and Safety Manual:Report, and where possible, correct unsafe acts, practices and/or conditions.Report all injuries.Make suggestions to improve the safety programRequired to identify and report any hazard(s) in their workplaceRequired to report any accidents, injuries requiring first aid, health care, lost time injuries, occupational diseases or incidentsUse PPE as requiredOperate assigned equipment is a safe manner.Ensures safe and clean work environment maintained MAJOR CONTACTS / ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:Internal:SupervisorsLead HandsSenior ManagementPeers External:Customers QUALIFICATIONS:Personal value set that corresponds to Conestoga Meats Company valuesGrade 12 education or equivalentHolds a valid AZ LicenseGood verbal communication skills (oral & written)Strong interpersonal skills / team orientationAbility to be flexible and learn new tasksAbility to make decisions WORKING / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:Temperatures; Hot/cold environment. Wear appropriate PPE. Recognize the early signs of heat/cold stress.Slippery ground/floor. Pieces of product, wood on the floor/wet floors inside trailer/plant. Ice and wet ground in inclement weather. Be aware of your surroundings, check tread on footwear and maintain good housekeeping in units.Ergonomic: Potential awkward postures and heavy forces to lift and carry boxes of product. Know the amount of weight you are about to lift.
